My Import Didn't Work
AI Import (agnifolio.com/import-transactions) reads a statement and turns it into holdings and transactions. You can paste text or drop in a file, check the results, and then confirm.
What you can import
Section titled “What you can import”- File types — CSV, Excel (XLS, XLSX), PDF, images (PNG, JPG, WEBP) and plain text, or pasted text
- Size — up to 10 MB per file
- Scanned PDFs — the first 3 pages are read
How it works
Section titled “How it works”- Paste your statement or drop a file. You’ll see AI is analyzing your text…
- Reading can take a while. You can leave the page — the import keeps running, and you can reopen it from Import History.
- Check the Review Parsed Entries screen, choose the Target Account, and click Confirm & Import. Nothing is saved until you do. Click Discard to throw the results away.
Common problems
Section titled “Common problems”| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| That file appears to be empty. | The file has no content. Export the statement again |
| …is too large. The upload limit is 10 MB. | Split the statement, export a shorter date range, or paste the text instead |
| Unsupported file type. Could not rasterize PDF | Usually a password-protected PDF (common for CAS and bank statements). Open it, then save or print it as a new PDF without a password, and upload that |
| AI service returned empty response for the uploaded file | The file couldn’t be read. Try again, or copy the text out of the file and paste it in |
| AI processing failed. Please try again. | A temporary problem — wait a minute and retry |
| Failed to upload file. Please try again. | Check your connection and retry |
| Please fix N invalid entries highlighted in red | Each row needs an asset name, an amount above 0, and a currency. Fill in or remove the red rows before confirming |
The import worked, but the results are wrong
Section titled “The import worked, but the results are wrong”- Check before confirming. Every row on the review screen can be edited. Fix names, amounts and dates there — it’s far easier than fixing them after import.
- Scans and photos are the hardest to read. On the free plan, a blurry photo or a complex PDF may come out with mistakes. Premium uses a stronger AI model for statements, scans and photos.
- Better input, better results. A CSV or Excel export from your broker is more reliable than a PDF, and a PDF is more reliable than a photo.
- Only the first 3 pages of a scanned PDF are read. For longer scans, upload the pages in batches.
