Share with your advisor or accountant

Advisor access lets a professional you work with see your portfolio in Agni Folio: your accountant, a CPA in the US, a chartered accountant in the UK or India, a financial adviser in Singapore, a wealth manager or a family office.

You stay in control:

  • Nothing is shared until you accept an invite.
  • Access is view only by default.
  • You choose how long it lasts: 1, 3, 6 or 12 months. It ends by itself at the end of that period.
  • You choose whether they can download your data.
  • Every view and download is logged, and you can read the log.
  • You can revoke access at any time.

There is no extra charge to you for sharing with an advisor.

Your advisor starts by inviting you by email from their side of Agni Folio.

  1. Open the invite link in the email and sign in.
  2. Read the summary. It shows exactly what the advisor would see, and the firm name and registration they entered. That firm detail is marked Self-declared – not verified by Agni Folio, so check it matches the person you know.
  3. Choose what the advisor may do: View only (the default) or View and make changes for me. If you choose changes, read the short notice of what they can change and tick that you’ve read it. See Let an advisor make changes.
  4. Pick how long the access lasts: 1, 3, 6 or 12 months.
  5. Choose whether downloads are allowed.
  6. Click Accept, or Decline if you don’t want to share.

The advisor then sees your portfolio in your own currency. With full access they see the same totals you see; with access to only part of your family they see only that part’s holdings and totals.

Open Settings → Sharing & access (“Who can see my money”). For each advisor you can:

  • see when their access ends;
  • turn downloads on or off;
  • read the access log (who viewed my data): every view and download, with the person’s name and the time;
  • revoke access. It stops straight away.

Some people want their accountant or adviser to keep their records up to date for them. For any advisor, you can switch on Allow changes in Settings → Sharing & access. You read a short notice first.

With changes allowed, the advisor can add and edit, for you:

  • holdings: values, units, prices, purchase details, notes, and maturity and reminder dates;
  • transactions;
  • moves between holdings and fund switches;
  • investment plans: create one, change the amount, pause, resume and run it;
  • insurance policies: add and edit (not the policy’s nominees, documents or notes);
  • accounts (add, rename and change the relationship);
  • your target allocation;
  • reminder actions (mark paid, reviewed or matured, snooze).

The only things an advisor can delete are a holding or a transaction. Deleted items go to your recycle bin (see below).

Even with changes allowed, an advisor can never touch:

  • your sign-in and security settings;
  • nominees, legacy transfer and your will;
  • deleting accounts, insurance policies or investment plans;
  • stopping an investment plan;
  • merging holdings;
  • crypto exchange and wallet connections;
  • email import settings and statement passwords;
  • billing;
  • data export settings;
  • AI settings;
  • who has access to your data.

One switch turns Allow changes off again. The advisor goes back to view only. Changes already made stay in place until you undo them.

Every change an advisor makes is logged with who made it and when. Open Settings → Sharing & access → See changes (/settings/sharing/changes).

You can undo a change for 90 days, as long as nothing on that holding has changed after it. Deleted items can be restored from the recycle bin, or with Restore on that row of the change list.

When an advisor deletes a holding or a transaction, it is not gone. It goes to your Recycle bin for 90 days: Settings → Sharing & access → Recycle bin (/settings/sharing/bin). Restore it from there and it comes back exactly as it was.

When an advisor changes something, you get at most one in-app notification a day for each access you’ve given. You also get an email summary of their changes: daily by default, or weekly, or off. Pick it under Email summary on each access in Settings → Sharing & access (shown once you allow changes).

If you use family structure, you can give an advisor access to only part of your family, for example only your family company. The advisor then sees (and, if you allow changes, changes) only the holdings inside that part. With limited access the advisor can’t download anything, even if downloads are switched on.

If you are the accountant or adviser, you set up an advisor profile in your own Agni Folio login.

  1. Go to Settings → Sharing & access. At the bottom, the Become an advisor card has a Set up advisor profile button.
  2. Enter your firm name and your registration (for example your licence or membership number). Clients see these marked Self-declared – not verified by Agni Folio.
  3. Open the advisor console at /advisor.
  4. Invite a client by email. Nothing is shared until the client accepts and picks the terms.

From the advisor console you open each client’s portfolio. You see it in the client’s currency, for as long as the client allowed, and you can download only if the client allowed it and gave you full access (not access to only part of their family). You can make changes only for clients who switched on Allow changes.

An advisor can create a practice and invite colleagues, at /advisor/practice. A practice has three roles:

RoleWhat they do
OwnerCreates the practice, invites colleagues, and chooses which clients each person may open
AdviserWorks with the clients the owner assigned to them
StaffEnters data only for the clients assigned to them, and only where the client has allowed changes. Staff never download a client’s data and never invite clients

If the client shared with one advisor personally, the client is asked before that access is shared with the advisor’s team.

Clients see each person’s name next to everything they viewed or changed, so they always know who did what.
