Fund Switch

A switch moves money from one mutual fund into another, for example from a regular plan to a direct plan. Instead of entering a sale and a purchase separately, you do it once and Agni Folio records both sides together, using each fund’s official NAV (the price the fund publishes each day).

  1. Open the detail page of the fund you’re moving money out of.
  2. Click Switch (next to Add Transaction).
  3. Fill in:
    • Fund to switch into — search by fund name. It can be a fund you already hold or a new one.
    • Amount — how much to move, or tick Switch all units to move everything.
    • Switch date — the date of the switch.
  4. Click Preview. You’ll see the units sold and their NAV, the units bought and their NAV, and the amount switched.
  5. If it looks right, click Confirm switch.

If you hold the target fund in more than one account, you’ll be asked which holding should receive the units.

  • One SELL from the old fund and one BUY into the new fund, linked together.
  • Both are dated the same day. If one fund’s NAV is published later than the other’s (for example, over a holiday), both use the later date.
  • Units sold = amount ÷ old fund’s NAV. Units bought = amount ÷ new fund’s NAV.
  • Switch all units sells exactly the units you hold on that date.

In the transaction history, a switch row has an Undo switch action. It removes both sides together — you can’t delete just one side. If the switch created the new holding, that holding is removed too.

To move money on a schedule instead of once, set up an STP — see SIP, STP and SWP. You can also ask Astra to make a switch for you.
